Forex market hours in Pakistan time

The forex market runs from Monday morning in Asia to Friday evening in New York. That does not mean every hour is a good hour to trade. Price moves most when big financial centres are open, and especially when two of them overlap.
Pakistan does not change its clocks, but Europe and the United States do. So the times below shift by about an hour during their summer months. Treat them as a guide and check a live session clock before trading.
The main sessions in Pakistan Standard Time
- Sydney: roughly 2:00 am to 11:00 am
- Tokyo: roughly 5:00 am to 2:00 pm
- London: roughly 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm in summer, 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm in winter
- New York: roughly 5:00 pm to 2:00 am in summer, 6:00 pm to 3:00 am in winter
The busiest window
The London and New York overlap, roughly 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm PKT in summer and 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm in winter, is usually the most active part of the day for pairs like EUR/USD and GBP/USD. Spreads tend to be tighter and moves are larger.
For many people in Pakistan this is convenient: it falls after work or class.
Quiet hours are not free money
Late night and early morning PKT are often slow for European pairs. Low activity can mean wider spreads and sudden jumps around news. As a beginner, learn on the busy sessions first, on a demo account.
